IS 6470 Network Data Analysis 3.0 Credits
Introduces the theory and analytic methods used to study social and information networks. The course emphasizes core concepts such as centrality, cohesion, prestige, and community structure, as well as computational approaches for modeling networks in online and offline environments. Students learn to collect, process, and visualize network data and to model relationships, detect communities, and interpret structural patterns using modern programming and analytical tools. Applications span social, economic, and organizational contexts. Through lectures, programming assignments, and leadership of a team project, students will analyze and/or build, as well as communicate insights from a network data set.
