IS 8319 Computational Research Methods 3.0 Credits
Introduces research design and methods of computational analysis for various problems in information science. Covers the management of necessary workflows for processing in problems involving pre-existing large-scale resources. Focuses on research execution and reproduction, and the development of scholarly output and professional communication. Presents computational techniques through the use of packaged software programming tools to develop data and analytic processes. Provides students with the opportunity to explore and experience computational research methods, tools, and techniques, with emphasis on their historical, philosophical, and theoretical underpinnings and perspectives on their use.
