LLPO 6210 Foundations, Legal Issues, and Ethics in Higher Education 3.0 Credits
This course surveys the history, governance, and operations of U.S. higher education. It examines major functional areas—enrollment management, student affairs, finance, advancement, curriculum, accreditation, and assessment—and considers how institutions engage their broader communities. Students gain foundational understanding of legal concepts, education laws, and the rights and responsibilities of administrators, faculty, staff, and students. Through case studies and current issues, the course highlights ethical decision-making and prepares students to navigate legal, organizational, and leadership challenges across diverse higher education settings.
