LLPO 6220 Leadership, Student Development, and Critical Issues 3.0 Credits
The course explores student development theories and their application to supporting student success across the higher education lifecycle. The course examines psychosocial, cognitive-structural, person-environment, and humanistic frameworks, along with practices that enhance inclusive services for diverse and marginalized populations. Students also analyze critical issues in student affairs, including campus climate, wellness, safety, prevention, and crisis response. Emphasis is placed on leadership strategies and risk-management approaches that address emerging challenges and promote sense belonging, student well-being, and institutional effectiveness.
