This course introduces students to the fundamentals of human resource compliance and the skills needed to manage the employer-employee relationship effectively. Emphasizing perspectives from employees, managers, and HR compliance professionals, the course explores how employee performance and legal compliance shape organizational performance and effectiveness. Students will examine how thoughtful HR compliance practices can transform the employer/employee relationship from a potentially adversarial dynamic into a productive one. This course highlights common challenges encountered in HR, compliance, and benefits departments and equips students with practical tools for navigating and designing effective management and compliance processes.
