LSTU 6650 Global Financial Crimes Compliance 3.0 Credits

Some of the biggest fines in the history of financial regulation stem from failures of banks to identify and manage the risk that their institution is permitting financial crimes through their routine operations. This course provides an overview of the regulatory expectations in the United States and globally as well as the consequences for non-compliance. The course will also highlight and develop in students the skills needed to contribute to compliance teams responsible for managing regulatory compliance. The course will use examples from recent regulatory enforcement actions as well as pop culture to discuss broader themes of how these regulations matter both inside and outside compliance programs.
