MEM 2310 Thermodynamics 3.0 Credits
This course introduces thermodynamics from a classical point of view. Covers basic concepts of work, heat, thermodynamic properties, first law of thermodynamics; pure substances; property diagrams for phase change processes; property tables; ideal-gas law; equations of state; energy analysis of closed systems and control volumes, second law of thermodynamics; Carnot cycle; selected thermodynamic cycles; entropy and isentropic relationships; gas cycles (Carnot, Otto, Diesel, Brayton) and vapor cycles (Rankine and refrigeration); heat pump.
Repeat Status: Not repeatable for credit
