MEM 2510 Dynamics 3.0 Credits

This course introduces the fundamental principles of Newtonian dynamics as applied to particles and rigid bodies in motion. Topics include kinematics and kinetics, vector descriptions of motion in two and three dimensions, and the analysis of forces, moments, velocities, and accelerations. Students develop and apply equations of motion, and examine linear and angular momentum, impulse and impact, and energy methods. Emphasis is placed on formulating and solving dynamic problems relevant to engineering applications.
