MEM 4352 HVAC Loads and Equipment 3.0 Credits
This course covers the principles and methods used to evaluate building heating and cooling requirements and the equipment that meets those loads. Students study human thermal comfort, psychrometric processes, and modern techniques for estimating peak heating and cooling loads. The course also examines secondary HVAC systems, including their operation, modeling, simulation, and sizing. Equipment topics include refrigeration and heat‑pump cycles, vapor‑compression components, absorption systems, boilers, heat exchangers, cooling coils, and cooling towers. Methods for assessing part‑load performance and estimating annual energy use are introduced, preparing students for integrated HVAC system analysis and design.
Repeat Status: Not repeatable for credit
