MEM 4360 Introduction to Nuclear and Plasma Engineering 3.0 Credits
Introduces the fundamental scientific, technical, social and ethical issues in nuclear and plasma engineering; nuclear and plasma reactions, radiation protection and control, nuclear energy production and utilization, nuclear fuel cycle, controlled fusion and thermonuclear plasma systems, basics of plasma physics and plasma chemistry, plasma processing of materials, plasma in microelectronics, nuclear and plasma reactor safety, analysis of severe accidents, risk assessment and related issues of engineering ethics.
