MEM 4440 Aerospace Structures 3.0 Credits
This course introduces the structural analysis of aerospace components with emphasis on thin‑walled and skin‑stringer constructions. Topics include torsion and shear flow in single‑ and multi‑cell sections, non‑symmetrical bending of wings and fuselages, and buckling behavior of critical structural elements. Students learn methods of structural idealization and perform shear‑flow and load‑path analyses for components such as spars, ribs, and box beams. The course develops both theoretical understanding and practical skills needed for the analysis and preliminary design of aerospace structures.
Repeat Status: Not repeatable for credit
