MEM 4510 Mechanics of Vibrations 3.0 Credits

This course examines the free and forced vibrations of one‑, two‑, and multi‑degree‑of‑freedom systems, as well as vibration behavior in continuous structures. Topics include transient response, resonance, and an introduction to random vibration. Analytical and computational methods are emphasized, and students use digital simulation tools to model and analyze system dynamics. By the end of the course, students gain practical skills in predicting and interpreting the vibratory behavior of mechanical systems.
