MEM 5002 Applied Engineering Mathematics II 3.0 Credits
This course develops analytical and numerical methods for solving engineering problems governed by ordinary and partial differential equations. Topics include analytical solutions of first‑ and second‑order ODEs, classification and solution strategies for major PDE types, and numerical approaches such as finite difference, finite element, spectral, explicit and implicit time‑stepping, and shooting methods. Students apply symbolic and numerical tools to initial‑ and boundary‑value problems, with applications in different areas of engineering, including mechanical and civil engineering.
Repeat Status: Not repeatable for credit
