MEM 5301 Advanced Control Systems I 3.0 Credits

This course reviews typical undergraduate controls material and introduces students to continuous and discrete systems control. It covers time and frequency domain analysis, Bode plots, root locus, Nyquist Analysis, and PID control/compensator designs. It also covers state-space modeling, continuous time and discrete time systems, similarity transformation, invariant subspaces, state response, stability, controllability, observability, Kalman decomposition, spectral and singular value decompositions, state feedback and observer based control designs.
