MEM 5401 Advanced Manufacturing I 3.0 Credits
This course introduces the principles, materials, and processes that define modern advanced manufacturing. Topics include traditional and non‑traditional material‑removal and forming processes; additive manufacturing of polymers, metals, and composites; micro‑ and nano‑fabrication methods; and fundamentals of process physics, tolerances, and surface integrity. Emphasis is placed on design for manufacturability, material selection, metrology, and automation-assisted processing. Applications span aerospace, biomedical, automotive, and electronics manufacturing.
