MEM 6101 Advanced Thermal Engineering II 3.0 Credits
This course examines convective heat transfer in external and internal flows. Topics include the governing conservation equations for mass, momentum, and energy; exact and approximate solutions for laminar and turbulent convection; development and application of boundary layer theory; and natural versus forced convection problems. Analytical solutions are introduced along with non-dimensional scaling analysis and numerical methods.
Repeat Status: Not repeatable for credit
