MEM 6401 Advanced Manufacturing II 3.0 Credits

This course introduces advanced production systems and intelligent manufacturing technologies that enable high‑performance, flexible, and data‑driven operations. Topics include smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 systems, robotics and automation, in‑process sensing, digital twins, quality and process control, advanced metrology, and sustainable production strategies. Students examine cyber‑physical manufacturing, real‑time data analytics, and integration of additive and subtractive workflows. Emphasis is placed on system modeling, factory planning, and designing responsive, scalable manufacturing systems.
