MEM 7101 Advanced Thermodynamics 3.0 Credits
This course covers the reformulation of empirical thermodynamics using basic postulates and presents the geometrical and mathematical interpretation of thermodynamic principles. Topics include Legendre transforms; conditions for chemical and phase equilibrium; first‑ and second‑order phase transitions; Onsager reciprocal relations; and the foundations of irreversible thermodynamics.
