MEM 7487 Manufacturing Processes 3.0 Credits
This course introduces fundamental manufacturing processes and the behavior of metals and plastics used in engineering applications. Topics include dimensional and geometric tolerancing; surface finishing; material removal processes and machine tools; basic processing of polymers and reinforced plastics; casting processes; sheet‑metal forming; bulk deformation processes; and introductory CNC machining. Emphasis is placed on process selection, material considerations, and practical applications in modern manufacturing.
