MEM 7546 Fundamentals of Plasmas 3.0 Credits
This course introduces the fundamentals of plasma science and engineering with applications in electronics, fuel conversion, environmental control, chemistry, biology, and medicine. Topics include quasi‑equilibrium and non‑equilibrium thermodynamics, statistics, fluid dynamics and kinetics of plasmas, and the behavior of major thermal and non‑thermal plasma discharges operating at low, moderate, and atmospheric pressures. Emphasis is placed on modern high‑temperature and high‑energy systems and processes.
Repeat Status: Not repeatable for credit
