MIP 341 Live Music III 3.0 Credits

This course builds on the fundamental relationships in the concert business, from the technical and artistic aspects of concert promotion learned in Live Music II and introduces music tour planning. Students will examine how to hire employees for tour, create budgets, negotiate contracts, promote a tour and the logistics of tour production, marketing and managing government regulations, that in the end, will maximize revenue over multiple shows. Additionally, students will examine the effects of touring over extended times vs single shows, for artists and their touring parties.
