MIS 3342 Systems Analysis & Design 3.0 Credits
Pressure to develop and deploy software very fast has been rapidly increasing. A conventional, highly structured approach may still be used for systems that are very large or have to follow a lot of regulations, but companies often use DevOps/Lean/Agile to release a minimal viable product (MVP) rather than carefully develop a complete product over a period of years. Artificial Intelligence tools for software development play an important role in contemporary approaches. This course investigates the different methodologies and when they can best be applied. Students will use software tools to work on capturing requirements and designing a user interface and will learn the skills to conduct or participate in a systems analysis and design initiative.
