MIS 6270 Design Thinking for Digital Innovations 3.0 Credits

This course introduces design thinking through a step-by-step approach. Students learn how to apply design thinking for solving problems in information technology and business more generally. The course covers the core principles, practices, and frameworks of design thinking and how they can be utilized to drive successful digital problem solving and innovations. Some of the major topics discussed in the course include the philosophy and concepts of design thinking, the process (empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test, implement), digital innovations, customer and team collaboration, identifying customer needs, and value-driven product design.
