MSE 3005 Materials Selection: Performance, Sustainability and Industrial Considerations 4.0 Credits
Covers selection methodologies that consider factors such as material properties, processing techniques, shape, cost, environmental impact, health and safety, and social concerns to determine appropriate materials for industrial applications. Often conflicting constraints that result from these factors need to be evaluated. Covers interaction of materials processing and design, materials selection, the design-failure interface, cost and capacity in manufacturing.
Repeat Status: Not repeatable for credit
Prerequisites: MSE 2001 [Min Grade: D] or MATE 220 [Min Grade: D]
