MUSC 1001 Music Ensemble: University Chorus 0-1 Credits

University Chorus is an auditioned, 60-voice mixed choir of experienced singers, performing a diverse repertoire from the Renaissance to contemporary music, both with and without instrumental accompaniment. The ensemble seeks to present newly composed works that engage with the natural, social, and political landscapes of our time.

The Music Performance minor is designed for students whose primary musical study at Drexel involves performing in music ensembles. Most credits are earned through participation in ensembles, which may be repeated for credit. Additionally, students complete 2–4 credits from practice/making courses and 3 credits in history/culture. Performance teaches valuable skills such as collaboration, cross-cultural communication, team building, and the understanding that individual abilities contribute to a greater whole. Other required courses promote critical thinking and cultural understanding. These skills complement any student’s major and career aspirations.
