MUSC 1009 Music Ensemble: Fusion Band 0-1 Credits

Fusion Band is an auditioned ensemble that performs an eclectic mix of styles, including funk, Latin, jazz, rock, and reggae. Arranged for a small big band, the group emphasizes improvisation and stylistic versatility. The Fusion Band presents concerts at least twice a year and performs for various events both on and off campus.

The Music Performance minor is designed for students whose primary musical study at Drexel involves performing in music ensembles. Most credits are earned through participation in ensembles, which may be repeated for credit. Additionally, students complete 2–4 credits from practice/making courses and 3 credits in history/culture. Performance teaches valuable skills such as collaboration, cross-cultural communication, team building, and the understanding that individual abilities contribute to a greater whole. Other required courses promote critical thinking and cultural understanding. These skills complement any student’s major and career aspirations.
