MUSC 1011 Music Ensemble: Chamber Music 0-1 Credits

This non-auditioned ensemble brings together students who play a variety of instruments and places them into small groups such as trios and quartets. Repertoire is selected based on students’ playing abilities and the available instrumentation. Students can be at any level and will be matched with others accordingly.

The Music Performance minor is designed for students whose primary musical study at Drexel involves performing in music ensembles. Most credits are earned through participation in ensembles, which may be repeated for credit. Additionally, students complete 2–4 credits from practice/making courses and 3 credits in history/culture. Performance teaches valuable skills such as collaboration, cross-cultural communication, team building, and the understanding that individual abilities contribute to a greater whole. Other required courses promote critical thinking and cultural understanding. These skills complement any student’s major and career aspirations.
