NUAN 712 Nurse Anesthesia Clinical Practicum IV 3.0 Credits

This is the fourth of seven nurse anesthesia clinical practicum courses. This course builds upon the clinical knowledge and skills developed in the Nurse Anesthesia Clinical Practicum I-III courses. In Nurse Anesthesia Clinical Practicum IV, students have the opportunity to administer anesthesia to patients scheduled for more complex surgical procedures or to care for patients with significant co-morbidities. Students may also administer regional anesthesia and insert invasive pressure monitoring catheters.Utilizing increasing critical thinking and decision-making skills, students integrate evidence based findings and collaborate with preceptors to deliver culturally competent perianesthesia care across the lifespan.
