NUAN 706 Nurse Anesthesia Clinical Practicum II 2.0 Credits

This course builds upon the clinical knowledge and foundational concepts developed in Clinical Practicum I to promote novice critical thinking and decision-making skills during the administration of care across the perianesthesia continuum. As didactic knowledge and clinical competency increase, the nurse anesthesia resident may also participate in the anesthesia management of patients undergoing more complex procedures. The development of patient specific anesthesia careplans, coupled with preceptor collaboration, provides the foundation for the nurse anesthesia resident to apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice. Satisfactory evaluation of the nurse anesthesia resident's clinical performance fosters clinical progression. This course is also complemented by simulation.
