NUAN 709 Nurse Anesthesia Clinical Practicum III 2.0 Credits
In Nurse Anesthesia Clinical Practicum III, the advanced beginner nurse anesthesia resident has the opportunity to administer anesthesia to patients with significant co-morbidities or to those patients undergoing more complex surgical or diagnostic procedures. The nurse anesthesia resident may also administer regional anesthesia and insert invasive monitoring catheters. The development of anesthesia care plans tailored to the patient’s medical, surgical and cultural needs, coupled with preceptor collaboration, provides the foundation for the nurse anesthesia resident to integrate scientific theory into clinical practice. Satisfactory evaluation of the nurse anesthesia resident’s clinical performance fosters clinical progression.
