NUAN 802 Nurse Anesthesia Clinical Practicum V 3.0 Credits

In clinical practicum V, the nurse anesthesia resident builds upon the knowledge and skills developed in clinical practicum I-IV to administer safe culturally competent perianesthesia care across the lifespan. Utilizing increasing critical thinking and decision-making skills, the nurse anesthesia resident integrates evidence-based findings and collaborates with preceptors to manage patients undergoing a variety of surgical or diagnostic procedures. Assigned rotations foster the development of knowledge and competencies to administer regional anesthesia, insert invasive lines, manage stressful situations, and safely deliver anesthesia to specialized patient populations. This course is also complemented by clinical case presentations and simulation.
