NUAN 805 Nurse Anesthesia Clinical Practicum VI 3.0 Credits

In clinical practicum VI, the nurse anesthesia resident collaborates with the preceptor to manage higher risk patients undergoing more complex surgical or diagnostic procedures. Utilizing interprofessional communication, strong critical thinking and decision-making skills, the nurse anesthesia resident develops more autonomy to deliver safe culturally competent perianesthesia care to patients across the lifespan. Assigned rotations foster the development of the knowledge and competencies to safely deliver anesthesia to specialized patient populations, administer regional anesthesia, insert invasive lines and manage stressful situations.
