NUAN 809 Nurse Anesthesia Clinical Practicum VII 3.0 Credits

In clinical practicum seven, the nurse anesthesia resident integrates scientific theory and best evidence to deliver safe culturally competent perianesthesia care across the lifespan. Utilizing interprofessional communication, strong critical thinking and more independent decision-making skills, the nurse anesthesia resident collaborates with the preceptor to administer increasingly autonomous anesthesia to challenging patients with significant comorbidities undergoing a variety of surgical or diagnostic procedures. Specialty rotations foster the application of knowledge and competencies to administer regional anesthesia, insert invasive monitoring catheters, manage higher stress situations, and provide advanced airway management. This course is also complemented by simulation.
