NUAN 8302 Nurse Anesthesia Practice Principles I 3.0 Credits

This course explores basic and advanced principles of the pulmonary system, including anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology. This course also examines perioperative fluid management, blood component therapy, and perioperative temperature management. Postoperative nausea and vomiting, and proper patient positioning to prevent iatrogenic injury, are emphasized to ensure patient safety. This course also provides an overview of essential nurse anesthesia practice and principles, pharmacology, and an anesthesia-focused preoperative health and physical assessment component for various surgical procedures. Nurse anesthesia professional aspects, including the importance of wellness is also explored.
