NUAN 8407 Pathophysiology and Anesthesia Management Plans II 3.0 Credits

This two-term course sequence provides an integrated study of human physiology, pathophysiology, and anesthesia management planning across the major organ systems. Students first develop a foundation in normal physiologic principles and regulatory mechanisms, then examine pathophysiologic alterations associated with common and complex disease states. Building upon this knowledge, students learn to formulate comprehensive anesthesia management plans tailored to patients with coexisting comorbidities and physiologic derangements. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, clinical application, and the synthesis of foundational science with perioperative decision-making to optimize patient safety and outcomes.
