NUAN 8491 Clinical Practicum I 3.0 Credits
The first nurse anesthesiology clinical practicum course focuses on the fundamental principles taught through didactic courses and the simulation lab to deliver safe care across the peri-anesthesia continuum. With preceptor guidance, NARs develop novice skills needed to safely administer anesthesia for a variety of surgical and/or diagnostic procedures. NAR development of anesthesia management plans tailored to the patient’s medical, surgical, and cultural needs, coupled with preceptor guidance, provides the foundation to apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice. Satisfactory evaluation of NAR’s clinical performance fosters clinical progression.
