NUAN 8509 Nurse Anesthesia for Special Patient Populations I 3.0 Credits
This is the first in a series of three nurse anesthesia practice courses for special patient populations. The physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and anesthetic management for the geriatric, obese, obstetric, neonatal/pediatric, trauma, and burn patient populations are examined. Unique anesthesia considerations for patients receiving anesthesia care outside of the operating room are also explored. The lecture content is enhanced with two pediatric simulation lab experiences, one neuraxial and one pediatric, to facilitate exposure to the nuances of obstetric and pediatric anesthesia.
Repeat Status: Not repeatable for credit
