NUAN 9395 Clinical Practicum V 4.0 Credits

In this fifth nurse anesthesia clinical practicum course, NARs integrate the knowledge and skills developed in the nurse anesthesia clinical practicum I-IV courses to safely administer anesthesia for patients with significant comorbidities undergoing more complex elective or emergency surgical procedures. Utilizing increasing critical thinking and decision-making skills, NARs integrate evidence-based findings and collaborate with preceptors to deliver culturally competent perianesthesia care across the lifespan. Specialty rotations foster the development of knowledge to safely deliver anesthesia for the obstetrical, pediatric, neurosurgical or cardiac patient. Satisfactory evaluation of NAR’s clinical performance fosters clinical progression.
