NUPR 805 Leading by Transforming and Partnering: The Future of Nursing 4.5 Credits

This course encourages students’ consideration of their obligations to the profession. Students explore the historical trajectory of professional associations and organizations in nursing to facilitate understanding of nursing’s potential future and the influence that DNP prepared nurses potentially offer to this prospect. Students consider nursing’s rich history of activism. Nursing’s organizations and associations are considered critical for the proactive work and enculturation necessary to maintain a healthy profession that satisfies the requirements of its social contract. Students participate in exploring professional opportunities and engage in organizational/association networking prospects as efforts to connect and contribute to the profession beyond practice and/or employment.
