NURS 6000 Introduction to Advanced Practice Nursing: Professional and Self-Development 3.0 Credits
This course provides a deep exploration in the roles and competencies of the advanced practice nurse. This includes the application of these roles and competencies in the current healthcare setting. This course provides understanding of role of the advanced practice nurse as a clinician exuding nursing knowledge and providing patient-centered care, as a leader within healthcare, and as a scholar and researcher. Legal and ethical topics pertaining to advanced nursing practice are reviewed and applied to real-world scenarios. The role of the advanced practice nurse in an interprofessional setting will be evaluated, including collaborative practice models.
