NURS 6002 Advanced Pharmacotherapeutics 4.0 Credits
This course builds on prior pharmacologic knowledge, equipping graduates with the skills to comprehend pharmacotherapeutics of broad drug categories, analyze the relationship between pharmacologic agents and physiological/pathological responses, understand pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, understand client motivations for seeking prescriptions, select pharmacologic agents based on client variations and cost-effectiveness, provide client education, analyze effects of single and multiple drug regimens, understand CRNP prescriptive authority, fulfill legal prescription-writing requirements. The course emphasizes clinical judgment, patient-centered care, interprofessional collaboration, and evidence-based practice, preparing advanced practice nurses for safe, holistic pharmacologic therapy.
