This clinical-based Nurse Practitioner course emphasizes clinical judgment, decision-making, and patient-centered care. Students will integrate evidence-based practice, clinical reasoning, and communication to assess and manage health conditions, considering psychosocial, cultural, and environmental factors. A continued focus is placed on patients with psychiatric mental health disorders across the lifespan with increasing complexity. The course emphasizes professional role development, leadership, interprofessional collaboration, and ethical practice in diverse healthcare settings. Through faculty-supervised direct patient care clinical hours, students will gain hands-on experience, preparing them to deliver safe, effective, person-centered care in their advanced practice roles.
