Dissertation Research I supports doctoral students in refining their dissertation proposal and preparing for the conduct of independent, original research under the guidance of a faculty advisor and dissertation committee. Emphasis is placed on developing and revising the research plan, addressing methodological considerations, and preparing for study implementation. Students may engage in early-stage research activities, such as finalizing protocols, preparing for ethical approval, and establishing procedures for data collection and management. Through structured mentorship and scholarly engagement, students build readiness to initiate dissertation research and contribute to the development of nursing science.
