OCT 5100 Research Methods 3.0 Credits
This course introduces foundational components of occupational therapy research, including qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Students learn to search, evaluate, and synthesize research literature; develop research questions; understand outcomes and measurements; apply sampling methods and research designs; and interpret basic statistics. The course builds skills in creating a systematic quantitative research proposal. It also introduces major qualitative approaches and their application to occupational therapy practice. Students participate in a qualitative research experience that culminates in a final project.
