ODS 7030 Anterior Segment Disease 1 2.0 Credits

This course provides students with a comprehensive knowledge of the disorders of the anterior segment, focusing on epidemiology, etiology, pathological mechanisms, diagnosis, laboratory studies, treatment, and management of conditions affecting the orbit, eyelids/lashes, conjunctiva, uvea, episcleral tissue, and sclera. The disease processes affecting the anterior segment will be emphasized, including degeneration, infection, inflammation, injury, and neoplasia. The course will build upon the knowledge gained in ocular anatomy and physiology, histology, pathology, immunology, microbiology, and biochemistry, with a focus on conditions observed in clinical practice.
