ODS 7608 Systemic Microbiology & Immunology 2.0 Credits
This non-laboratory course provides a comprehensive introduction to systemic immunology and microbiology. The immunology component of the course will focus on basic immunological concepts, with an emphasis on the characteristics and functions of the cellular and molecular components of the immune system. It will also highlight the key role of the complement system in immunity. Furthermore, this course will highlight the different stages in the development of lymphocytes, along with their effector functions. The effector mechanisms of innate and adaptive immunity, along with their roles in eliminating internal and external threats, will be highlighted in this course.
