ODS 7640 Neuroanatomy 1 1.0 Credit
This course introduces students to the development and microscopic structure of the nervous system, with an emphasis on foundational neuroanatomy relevant to optometric practice. Students will study the histogenesis and microscopic anatomy of the nervous system, and develop a working understanding of key sensory and motor pathways within the central nervous system, including their origins, courses, and functional significance. Clinical correlations are integrated throughout, enabling students to recognize and interpret the manifestations of neurologic damage affecting these pathways. The course also provides an introduction to the detailed anatomy of the medulla and its relationship to the auditory and vestibular systems.
Repeat Status: Not repeatable for credit
