ODS 8532 Contact Lens 3 w/Lab 1.0 Credit

This course, which completes the three-part series focuses on specialty contact lens fitting. A study of keratoconus and other corneal irregularities, diseases and dystrophies will be explored including management options. Students learn to design, fit, evaluation, and manage hybrid and scleral lenses for this specialty population. We examine orthokeratology lenses, particularly within the context of myopia control. Students have the opportunity to work through calculations and fitting procedures during laboratory sessions where they work with a variety of different lens types and materials in order to gain confidence with fitting principles and problem solving to apply in the patient care environment.
