OPR 6000 Optimization and Prescriptive Analytics 3.0 Credits

This course focuses on prescriptive analytics, the final frontier of data-driven decision-making. Students will learn to move beyond prediction (what will happen) to prescription (what should we do?). The course covers powerful techniques such as linear and nonlinear optimization, simulation, and decision analysis to find the best possible solution under constraints. The broad learning objective is to model complex business problems mathematically and identify optimal courses of action. For businesses, this translates directly to bottom-line impact by improving resource allocation, streamlining supply chains, optimizing pricing, and maximizing operational efficiency.
