OPT 7105 General Anatomy and Histology 1.0 Credit

The General Histology portion of the course introduces the microscopic structure of cells and tissues. Emphasis is placed on structure as a basis for understanding normal physiology and biochemical functions. The General Anatomy portion presents the structure and function of each organ system. Emphasis is placed on normal anatomy of organs beginning with the lymphatic system, and continuing with cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, urinary and endocrine systems. The knowledge of normal structure and function provides a framework for understanding the pathogenesis of disease processes.
